Bastian Schweinsteiger will start his first competitive match for Manchester United after being named in the Reds' XI for the Barclays Premier League clash against Newcastle United at Old Trafford.
The German World Cup-winner has come on in all three of United's matches so far this term against Tottenham, Aston Villa and Club Brugge.
Louis van Gaal hinted to MUTV on Friday (Aug 21) that he would start Saturday's lunchtime meeting with the Magpies and ManUtd.com can confirm Schweinsteiger is in the line-up.
His inclusion, in place of Michael Carrick who is on the bench, is the only change from the side that began the 3-1 win over Club Brugge in midweek.
Marouane Fellaini netted the Reds' third goal against the Belgian side but will not be involved against Newcastle as he serves the final game of his three-match domestic suspension, carried over from last season.
United: Romero; Darmian, Smalling, Blind, Shaw; Schneiderlin, Schweinsteiger; Mata, Januzaj, Memphis; Rooney.
Subs: Johnstone, McNair, Valencia, Carrick, Herrera, Young, Chicharito.
