According to various media reports, Barcelona 'B' winger Adama Traoré is closing in on a move to Premier League powerhouse Liverpool. The 19-year-old Spanish starlet of Malian descent, who joined the Catalan giants' academy in 2004 at eight years of age, has been linked with several European heavyweights including Bayern Munich and Manchester United. But local outlet RAC1 revealed that Reds officials travelled to Barcelona to finalise his transfer to Anfield. Unlikely to break any time soon into a star-studded Barça first team, for whom he just made one La Liga appearance in 2013, Traoré may be able to enjoy a bit of top flight action in England. Liverpool are reportedly interested in a season-long move for the youngster whom they could land permanently next summer for around €15 million. In February last year, the Malian Football Federation announced that Adama Traoré had decided to switch allegiance to the country of his parents after representing Spain at youth level. |
