RVP was born on August 6, 1983 in Rotterdam, Netherlands (age 32)
Star soccer striker who joined English club Arsenal in 2004 from Feyenord for £2.75 million as a long-term replacement for compatriot Dennis Bergkamp.
He scored 96 goals in 194 appearances, with victories in only the 2004 FA Community Shield and the 2004-05 FA Cup to his name, and despite being named club captain for the 2011–12 season, he joined rivals Manchester United in July 2012.
In his first season, he won the 2012-13 Premier League and finished as the league's top scorer with 26 goals, winning his second consecutive Premier Golden Boot award.
After two injury-hit seasons followed, Van Persie fell out of favour at Manchester United and he was allowed to leave for Fenerbahçe in July 2015.
He helped lead the Netherlands to a World Cup Final match in 2010 where they lost to Spain.
Van Persie has 98 caps and has scored 49 goals for the Netherlands, making him their top scorer of all time.
