Montreal Impact have bought the rights to former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba from fellow MLS franchise Chicago Fire, ESPN FC has revealed.
According to the media sources, the Canada-based outfit have offered the 37-year-old an 18-month, $3million-a-year contract.
Reports suggest that Montreal paid Chicago over $100,000 for the rights to the Ivoirian, who has allegedly opted for the French-speaking city due to language preference.
However, Drogba, who has become a free agent at the end of last season following a second spell at Stamford Bridge, is yet to put pen to paper, with the MLS transfer window coming to an end on 6 August.
The former Elephants skipper has also been linked with a move to Serie A giants Inter Milan and the Indian Super League.
